This paper would be beyond most high kids but using Google as an example of an application of parallel processing would be an excellent idea!

We want to teach the students some Web site design including CSS. I went looking for simple designs that still looked nice.

Math modeling of a catapult

We have always wanted to do some kind of lesson on mathematical modeling of a physical system.

We thought of modeling a catapult. Here are some resources.

1. http://heim.ifi.uio.no/~oddharry/blide/vtreb.html An applet that simulates a trebuchet

2. http://www.algobeautytreb.com/trebmath35.pdf – a long paper on the model for a trebuchet. Amazing!

Here are some ideas for modeling other physical system: http://www.utm.edu/staff/caldwell/classes/451/ProjectList.html
