this course might be taught at university but it is great for kids too as it makes them curious about the possibilities of robotics.

Of course it varies with the student but we have been teaching high school students of all grades about programming. I have read about really young students being taught programming, even as young as 5th grade. I don't know how they do that!

Game programming is definitely a good way to go. Gamemaker is a great tool for that.

Good luck and write any time if you have questions.

I am a lateral entry school teacher acquiring my teaching certificate for High School mathematics. My prior career was a computer programmer for many years.

At what do you think that students will actually be able to code and understand the concepts behind the computer programming? Would coding a game program be a good way to start off?

Thanks

Though Smalltalk is not that popular these days, there is a new renaissance in Smalltalk development, thanks to Squeak.I went through many sites of the Smalltalk and agree with all the supporters of Smalltalk. The more I learn about Smalltalk and Squeak the more I’m impressed. In the process of my learning I have collected some good sites (more than 200) related to Smalltalk and Squeak (lessons, tutorials and programming). If you are interested take a look at the below link.

The stuff you can do with lego never ceases to amaze me. The first surprize I got was when a kid made a functioning dot matrix printer which could be attached to the pc! I think lego is a great example of large scale molecular modeling which can be made into anything to serve almost any purpose.
