  1. Hi,

Thank you for posting the article about the Fractal Science Kit on your site. This is a note to let you know that I have reduced the price fro $49.95 to $29.95 to better serve the educational market.

    Thanks again,

    Ross Hilbert

  2. Hi

We are a development house called Highandes based in Dublin. We produce a multimedia product called trakAxPC Pro that allows users and students to mix music and video in a fun and easy to use way. I thought it might be interest to your readers.

It can be used to mix and edit music as well as create podcasts and DJ mixes.

It is also a powerful video editor and mixer and allows users to add multiple audio and video clips with transitions and picture in picture and upload them in HD (h264) to youtube:

    Our site is http://www.trakax.com/

There are numerous video tutorials to help you get started and we have a healthy user forum to ask questions and get help.

We are constantly updating the software and will be adding new features constantly.
I hope you check it out and see if it fits your educational needs. We offer very competitive volume discounts for educators.

    Dear Shodor Supporter,

In a recent Google search it was found that you mentioned Shodor in your blog/paper. First off thank you, it is so flattering to see our name out there as well as see the impact Shodor is making on the local, national, and global communities.

With that being said I would like to take a minute to showcase all of the programs Shodor has to offer and see if we could be of assistance to you in any way. As I am sure you know, Shodor is a non-profit organization located in Durham, North Carolina focused on computational science education. We are proud of the progress Shodor has made since its incorporation in 1994, continually pursuing the mission of improving math and science education through computational science. At the core of Shodor’s dramatic growth and effectiveness is its authentic use of computers in transforming science and mathematics education through the internet, network technologies, and hands-on student experiences.

Shodor serves students and educators nationwide. Our online education tools such as Interactivate and the Computational Science Education Reference Desk (CSERD), a Pathway Portal of the National Science Digital Library (NSDL), help transform learning through computational thinking. In addition to developing and deploying interactive models, simulations, and educational tools, Shodor serves students and educators directly through workshops and other hands-on experiences. Shodor’s innovative workshops help faculty and teachers incorporate computational science into their own curricula or programs. For students from middle school through undergraduate levels of education, Shodor offers workshops, apprenticeships, internships and off-site programs that explore new approaches to math and science education through computational science.
Again we would like to take this time to thank you for citing Shodor, and would also like to encourage your feedback, questions, and suggestions as we are always looking for new ideas and ways to improve our current programs and resources.

    Sincerely,

    Hillary Stoker
    Internship and Communications Coordinator
Shodor- A National Science Resource for Computational Science Education
